When Technology marries art

Love him or hate him, you simply can’t ignore him. Steve Jobs was one of the great leaders of our era. Although, this post might come across as a bit of a delay in terms of tributes to the great man, I thought it best to simply put down what I feel about Apple. Jobs was called many things except a philanthropist of our times. No donations were made in his name but very few know that he funded various universities across the world to help build technology and innovative ideas.  He would straight away admit that he’d copied an idea. So learn to excuse him for that bit. He was a marketing genius and knew exactly what he wanted to do. The most profound statement I can think of is when he effortlessly demonstrated iPhone 4 users to hold their devices using their left hand rather than the righ...

A Falcon and a Bat on a riding holiday

It’s the onset of monsoon, probably not the ideal time for a biking holiday especially in the Western ghats. After some research, he zeroed in on this To ensure we were not the type who don’t care about health and safety, we started shopping for bungee cords, balaclavas, energy bars, medi kit, Gatorade etc., Quite some thought was spared on the stops as well. However, as we’ll see later, not many things go according to plan. The first of these examples came in the form of...

A lonely night at the airport

The concept of story telling has indeed come a long way. It was my grandmother and then my parents who used to introduce me to this fantasy world which was supposed to soften me when I used to be my stubborn self. But I guess as with many things around us, story telling has evolved from those fantasy tales to boardrooms and coffee shops where you end up narrating those instances which differentiate you from the herd. In this format, you can choose to make a fool of yourself or bring out the GRE candidate in you to that make others hate their lives. So, what's this all about? Times have moved on so much that we rarely have enough time to spend with our dear ones. Whether a work-o-holic or not, you end up meeting those old pals from school in the virtual media. Finally, when you do decide to catch up, what do you share? While career is sure to make everyone envy you, there are those hilarious moments which are embarrassing but popular! Let's rewind the clock to 4th April. I ...
