2010: A recap..of sorts

Every article I've come across in the past week or so has focussed on how the year has panned out in it's respective area.
Keeping with that, this post will be a look back at one of the most memorable years of my life.
To me, every year begins with some kind of resolution and 2010 was no different. Only this time though, resolutions were bit
more focussed and serious of sorts.
In the following lines, I'll try to pen down what have been the eventful moments of 2010.

January: There was a lot of hype surrounding the campus recruitment by now and we were all pumped up to get into
what most think is a must after graduation; a job! Cognizant was the first to visit and to my surprise, got through.

February: The little joys of life are sometimes the most memorable and this time it was my sister's engagement.
However, nature's balance always holds: there's always a balance between joys and sorrows. What was the sad part?
Well, let me put it this way, we had one of the best projects a student could think of and it was all ruined by our faculty, leaving
us in dishartened and hopeless. Thankfully, we picked ourselves up and indulged into something equally, if not more challenging.

March: I've always been proud of my brother's achievements and he came out with his best; a degree from an IIM. To be a part of this success,
we decided to join him in Lucknow and got a first hand experience of how special it is to be a part of the elite. Too good to be true! This was followed by a visit
to the Taj etc., etc., Although I've penned down these travels before, I thought I'd just bring them together for old time's sake.

The following months were the usual college and life story, so am not going to elaborate.

June: Exam time and this being the final year in college, farewell time! It was easily one of the worst farewells in the history of farewells but it was memorable nonetheless.
Exams were common by now and the routine of last minute study was de facto for all of us.

July was pretty relaxing and felt like a much deserved break after a lot of stress and a welcome respite from stupid college politics!

Come august and this relaxing mindset started to take a toll on us, well atleast me. I really was starting to get bugged and wanted to start work asap. This meant
going on job hunts, pool campuses, aptitude tests, what not. On realising that these were fruitless attempts, the disappointment run continued.

September was a good one. A nice surprise on my birthday from my friends was followed by a conformation call from Cognizant.
This settled my nerves a bit and kind of sorted things out.

Guess grass is always greener on the other side and hit me pretty hard in the coming months.
Travelling a lot everyday really did take a toll on me and in a way, it still is. Still, there are upsides in terms of the feel good factor of being a bit
independent.

Although I've highlighted some of the better moments of the year, there was a fair share of heart breaks too. They have helped me grow as an individual, taught me lessons
which I'll never forget and help understand myself much much better. If optimism is anything is to go by, I'm supposed to take only the positives. With a heavy heart,
am forced to accept some events but what the hell..maybe 2011 will be better!

Hope you too had a fantastic year and indeed a decade. Here's wishing all the joy and happiness for the next years to come. Ciao!
